April Core Employee Jake Marshall

Jake Marshall is the kind of employee you want to clone. That’s exactly what his nominator said – clone him five times, in fact. 

“When one project is done, there is always another coming his way,” Sheryl Rowden said.  “Jake always finds a way to work with others to accomplish difficult tasks with a positive attitude. He wants to see everyone, including customers, at EquipmentShare succeed in everything they do. He treats all dealings with integrity and confidentiality.”

Jake’s humility and his ability to do the work of multiple people has made him a stand out team member. For his drive, intelligence, humility and integrity, Operations Controller Jake Marshall has been named the April 2022 Core Employee Award Winner.

Operations Controllers usually oversee accounting operations and provide support to the operations leadership team, check fiscal reports and other duties needed. Jake is based out of the VLP Kansas City Retail location and is known for taking on any task that is given to him.

"Jake joined our team two years ago and has been key to the successful integration of the VLP locations and has been working hard to integrate Trekker," Jennifer Heim, Corporate Controller, said. "Jake provides strong leadership skills to his team members and is willing to assist in any way he can. Jake is a valuable asset to EquipmentShare and we're glad to have him on our team!"

Jake’s peers would describe him as a humble, dedicated worker who never complains. Jake also became a new dad in 2021 and has been able to balance fatherhood and his position at ES with grace and ease, according to Sheryl.
