EquipmentShare Driver Delivers the Goods and Spreads Good Cheer Wherever He Goes

September 14, 2026

Guy Dedeaux

As a little boy, Guy Dedeaux enjoyed going on hunting trips with his father. He could take or leave the hunting part, but he liked sitting on his dad’s lap and steering the truck down country roads along the Gulf Coast.

That was the start of his lifelong love of driving.

While still in high school, Dedeaux made extra money by driving a school bus. The day he turned 18, he got his commercial driver’s license and started driving a beer truck. He joined the Army National Guard and ultimately spent four years of active duty behind the wheel of a fuel truck in Germany. When he got out, he alternated between hauling heavy equipment for rental companies and working as an over-the-road trucker.

“I like being able to go to different places every day and talk with people,” said Dedeaux, a CDL delivery driver for EquipmentShare’s Core Solutions branch in Gulfport, Mississippi. “I just like doing what I do.”

It shows.

“He is always smiling and happy,” Gulfport General Manager Carrie Herron said. “If anyone around here seems down, he makes a point to talk to you and make you laugh before he leaves. He’s the first one here and usually the last one to leave. He’s dependable. He coaches people. He’s good at all his pretrip inspections and lets us know in plenty of time if his truck is coming up on needing service so we can adjust our schedules. He’s just on top of everything. He’s the perfect description of a delivery driver.”

Dedeaux has spent more than four decades as a professional driver, so he speaks from deep experience when he says EquipmentShare has been his favorite place to drive. He’s such an advocate for EquipmentShare, he convinced his son, Andrew, to leave his over-the-road trucking job and join him at the Gulfport branch.

Dedeaux said a big piece of the EquipmentShare advantage is the T3® technology. The T3 E-logs mobile app allows drivers to review all their scheduled runs for the day from their phone. It lets them log their hours automatically and submit inspection reports digitally to stay compliant.

“This is the first time I’ve had E-logs and electronic dispatching,” Dedeaux said. “In my previous job at a rental company and when I was over-the-road, I was dealing with paper logs. Now, I can look at my dispatch and see what I have to do for pretty much the whole day. It’s a lot easier on us as drivers to just see what we have to do rather than be in and out, in and out of the branch talking to the dispatcher.”

Because EquipmentShare rental machines have T3 trackers, drivers can pull up the T3 Map on their phone and easily find the equipment they need to pick up.

Guy Dedeaux has a seasonal side hustle playing Santa Claus.

“I really like the tracking system,” Dedeaux said. “The trackers pinpoint where your equipment is so you don’t have to ride around and look at each asset and try to figure out which one is yours. That is a real big help on big jobsites.”

Dedeaux also appreciates the work-life balance he gets as an EquipmentShare driver. He often reminds new hires to take care of themselves and take advantage of the company’s generous wellness benefits. After spending much of his career as a long-haul driver, he usually enjoys free evenings and weekends for his favorite activities: hanging out with family, watching his youngest stepson play youth football and spreading good cheer.

Dedeaux, who bears a strong resemblance to another white-bearded man known for making timely deliveries, is a highly sought Santa Claus for holiday celebrations on the Gulf Coast.

“My favorite part is seeing the kids’ reactions,” he said. “It really makes my heart smile.”
