Samuel Bermudez joined EquipmentShare looking for more opportunities to grow. Since then, he has continued improving his technical skills while becoming a mentor to other technicians on his team.
Bermudez is a field technician at an EquipmentShare on-site branch in Baytown, Texas. EquipmentShare has on-site branches at some of the nation’s biggest construction sites, industrial facilities and refineries. The teams at those branches play a key role in keeping the projects and facilities running smoothly.
After previously working on-site for an industrial equipment company, Bermudez wanted to join a company where he could continue to advance his career.
“I wanted a place where I could keep learning,” he said. “Every day I get a chance to challenge myself and improve my techniques.”
Bermudez said the opportunity to improve was one of the biggest draws of joining EquipmentShare. The focus on growth is structured into the company’s technician training programs, where employees have access to hands-on instruction covering equipment diagnostics, repairs and troubleshooting.

Through those learning opportunities, technicians are equipped with the knowledge to continue developing their skills.
“Samuel serves as a mentor to other technicians by providing hands-on training, sharing his knowledge and helping troubleshoot difficult repairs,” General Manager David Flores said. “His willingness to invest time in developing others has improved the confidence and skill level of our team, resulting in faster repairs, fewer repeat issues and a stronger overall workforce.”
No two days are alike for an EquipmentShare service tech. Bermudez typically gets six to 16 service calls each day. He tackles everything from hydraulic leaks to electrical issues. Getting the chance to work on a variety of equipment is one of his favorite parts of the job.
“I get to refresh my skills every day,” he said. “I come in with a growth mindset and take on whatever the day brings.”
As much as he enjoys the work, Bermudez said it’s the people around him who make EquipmentShare different from his previous jobs. Whether they’re grilling together on the weekends or getting together to watch UFC fights, the team has built friendships that extend beyond the job.
“The crew makes it worth coming to work every day,” he said. “We work hand-in-hand and even hang out outside of work.”
For someone thinking about becoming a technician at EquipmentShare, Bermudez says it's one of the best places to develop your skills.
“If you don’t have a lot of experience, this is one of the best places to learn,” he said. “We work on so many different types of equipment that before you know it, you’ve worked on a hundred different machines.”
Whether it’s solving problems in the field or being with his team, Bermudez approaches both the same way: stay present, enjoy the experience and make time to recharge along the way.
