Building Beyond the Jobsite: How Our Field Teams Led the Way in 2025

At EquipmentShare, our mission to “Build the Future of Construction” isn’t just about the technology, tools and machines we put in the hands of contractors. It’s about the hands themselves — the 8,200-plus employees who show up every day to make an impact.

While our team is encouraged to use their Volunteer Time Off throughout the year, Giving Back Week (April 20–25) serves as our annual rally point. It is a focused week when our team members activate and make a difference in the communities they call home.

As we kick off this week of service, we’re looking back at a benchmark-setting 2025. The numbers tell a story of grit, commitment and a culture that refuses to just "check a box."

Driven from the Field

Traditionally, corporate volunteerism is dominated by desk-based office staff. At EquipmentShare, we are defying those industry standards.

In 2025, nearly 40% of our 6,000-plus volunteer hours were contributed by field-level employees in Maintenance and Rental operations. While this segment of the workforce historically sees the lowest participation rates in the industrial sector due to the "on the clock" nature of their work, our field teams emerged as the most active volunteer groups in the company. From technicians to rental experts, our mission is being spearheaded from the shop floor up.

Putting the Work In

Our volunteers averaged 10.56 hours of service per person in 2025–more than double the national average for volunteer depth. While national corporate trends have shifted toward “micro-volunteering,” or short-duration tasks that often total fewer than five hours per year, EquipmentShare employees choose the heavy lifting. When our teams activate, they aren't just looking for quick wins. They are committing to full days of building, mentoring, and serving the communities they call home.

2025 Impact: By the Numbers

  • 6,092.5 total hours: Dedicated to service across 385+ locations.
  • $211,000-plus economic impact: The tangible labor value provided to the nonprofit sector (based on Independent Sector valuations).
  • 10.56 average hours: Doubling national benchmarks for volunteer depth.
  • Frontline Leadership: Field operations led the company in total participation depth.

Activating for 2026

Throughout this Giving Back Week, you will see EquipmentShare branches across the country rolling up their sleeves for local food drives, neighborhood cleanups, home builds and more.

In Columbia, Missouri, members of our corporate team are heading back to the Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture (CCUA) to prepare a veteran-focused vegetable garden. As Lexi Linsenman, Development Director for CCUA, noted: “It is going to be a tasty and abundant season at the Veterans Urban Farm because of the EquipmentShare team.”

“Our team brings the same intensity to our communities that they bring to the jobsite,” said Amy Susán, Senior Director of Public Affairs. “It’s a testament to the grit of our workforce that they choose to spend their time away from work in such a meaningful, high-impact way.”

We are proud to have a workforce that doesn't just build projects, but builds a better future for everyone.
